The scientific leadership provided by more than 130 principal investigators is the driving force behind DHLRI accomplishments. Individual and team initiatives are changing scientific understanding and the way medicine is practiced through the creation of new theories and the development of imaging devices, nanotechnologies and new approaches to fundamental problems of human health.
The Institute is supported by a leadership team consisting of not only administrative office support, but a team of Associate Directors leading the vision for the Institute. The Associate Director for Administrative Affairs and her assistant act as support for building services, including issues related to the facility structure, building system support, repairs, construction projects, etc. The business office supports the finances of the Institute and includes a Business Manager and Accountant who monitor the day-to-day financial needs as well as annual budgets, large equipment purchases, and maintenance contracts. Our Grants Office is staffed by three very qualified staff members whose mission is to support the management of existing research projects and to facilitate the development of new, high-quality research proposals. In addition, OSURF has a sponsored program officer onsite to assist with sponsor-related issues. The Core Computing Services team supports the staff and faculty in the Institute by assuring that our computer systems are running as efficiently as possible. They perform regular updates and monitor and install current virus protection software as needed.
